“Wish” was a project that I did for my typography class. This project consisted of choosing a typeface and a word and then creating a story. I chose the word “Wish” with the typeface pictured here. I then decided to build a narrative of a wishing well or fountain. I made the word more detailed and printed out the text and cut out a template. From there, I bought a lot of pennies and glued them together using the template I printed so they were about an inch tall. I then chose a location that had a running fountain and placed the words there. I took a handful of pictures and then manipulated those in Photoshop. I started by editing out the pipes in the fountain to make it look cleaner and tweaking some lighting. To complete the project and make the image more dramatic, I gray scaled the entire image and added a layer mask with full color.
